How is it possible that Downtown Days 2023 will be our 20th year?!? COVID took away a festival away from us so technically this will be our 19th festival but it’s still our 20th year and we’ve had in our minds that 2023 would be our 20th so we aren’t letting anything change that!
The biggest news for 2023 is that we have already announced that The Kentucky Headhunters will be performing a FREE concert to close out the festival! THE KENTUCKY HEADHUNTERS!! We have wanted to get them for years, but it just hasn’t worked out but what better way to celebrate this milestone year than this? The Headhunters are from neighboring Metcalfe County which makes it even more special that we are able to have them here for this “hometown” crowd. Recently we were honored to be invited to their sold-out show at Renfro Valley where they invited us backstage so that we could film them making the official announcement that they are coming to Downtown Days and they are so excited to be joining us on the Square.
The band’s music is special to this area, not just because of the mention of everyone’s favorite beverage, Ski, but also because their songs are about things we relate to. It’s hard to pick a favorite but if you have one we would love for you to share it with us on our Facebook page. Their covers of ‘House of The Rising Sun’ and the Beatles’ ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ are amazing and we are hoping that both of those are on the set list for Downtown Days 2023.
