For the past 20 years, the Downtown Days festival has brought energy, laughter and togetherness to the heart of Columbia. From the headlining concerts to the kids’ activities, car show, food trucks and vendors, this festival has become a tradition that marks a special time each year in our community.
Downtown Days would not exist without the tireless work of the previous committee, who over two decades shaped the festival into what it is today. We extend our heartfelt thanks to each member of that team for the legacy they have built. We are honored to carry their vision forward.
This year, a new committee has stepped up to take the reins. While most of us are new to festival planning-with the exception of our experienced Car Show coordinators, Annette Hatcher and Lindsay Breeding–we bring energy, deep community pride and a sincere desire to continue what has been built.
We are learning as we go, listening to feedback and doing our best to preserve the heart of this event while finding new ways to celebrate Columbia’s small-town charm, especially for our guests from out of town.
We believe Downtown Days belongs to everyone–and we want to hear from you. Whether you are a longtime supporter, a business owner, local talent, or someone who just loves Downtown Days, we invite you to get involved. Donate, sponsor, volunteer or simply show up and celebrate with us!
Planning is underway and we are working hard to secure entertainment and will make that announcement as soon as we are under contract. We hope to build an event that reflects the best of Adair County. We look forward to sharing updates, opportunities to help and a few surprises as the big weekend approaches.
